Regency was selected as the General Contractor for two complete builings totaling 85,000 sf for Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laoratory based on a general conditions and fee bid process. The challenge for this project was not in the complexity of the interior construction, JHUAPL needed immediate access to the space, consequently the construction schedule totaled 14 weeks from onset to occupancy. The existing building construction was "cold, dark" shell therefore, the scope of work included the installation of all base building mechanical, electircal, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, as well as the construction of 10 laboratories, installation of an Avaya certified phone system and the typical tenant interior construction. Regency completed the construction on time, supplied the tenant and owner with a certificate of occupancy 2 days prior to the scheduled completion date and completed the punch list, commisioning and project close out within 14 days of substantial completion.
